The CPA met with Helen Ryan, director general of the Energy and Transportation Directorate at Environment Canada, to discuss CPA’s position that there is no functional benefit, from a greenhouse gas emission reduction perspective, by including propane in Phase I of the Clean Fuel Standard, as some jurisdictions have done.

On June 29, Enbridge delivered to the state of Michigan various assessments evaluating technologies and actions aimed at safeguarding the environment and energy infrastructure. The assessments are part of the November 2017 agreement between Enbridge and the state of Michigan and will be used to help inform discussions on the future of Line 5 and energy infrastructure in Michigan.

On June 29, the new Progressive Conservative government of Ontario was sworn in and affirmed in a public ceremony on the front steps of Queen’s Park. Premier Doug Ford appointed 20 new cabinet ministers. Click here for a complete list of cabinet appointments. CPA President and CEO Nathalie St-Pierre wrote to Premier Ford to extend congratulations on behalf of the members of the Canadian Propane Association.

The CPA is pleased to announce that Alain Saborit joined the team on July 2 as senior technical and training advisor. Alain holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and is a Certified Engineering Technologist in Industrial Maintenance from the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists. He also has his certificates of qualification for gas (TAG1), stationary engines and pressure vessels (Québec).

The CPA held its 2018 Atlantic Seminar & Golf Tournament on June 20 and 21 in Dieppe, New Brunswick. As always, the event was well attended, with more than 35 delegates enjoying a beautiful day on the greens of the Fox Creek Golf and Country Club and participating in the informative and engaging seminar, held at the Hotel Wingate Dieppe.
