The bill regulates the form and content of contracts entered into by California’s warehouse industry. Learn More... A trucking firm has been ordered to reinstate a whistle-blower truck driver who refused to drive an explosive-filled truck with a co-driver who smoked. It will pay $315,000 in back wages and damages, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration said Tuesday. OSHA said it ordered M3 Transport L.L.C./SLT Expressway Inc., and its successors in interest, Lyons Capital L.L.C. and Glendale, Arizona-based Roadmaster Group, to pay the truck driver $315,000 for the firm's alleged violation of the whistle-blower provisions of the Surface Transportation Assistance Act.

The state has provided grants to help pay for new, high-tech diesels that emit a 10th of the air pollution that the 2006 models produce. The latest grants provide up to $60,000 toward a big-rig that can easily cost $130,000 or more.
