New Ontario Environmental Commissioner Report: Every Joule Counts

On August 11, 2017, the Environmental Commissioner of Ontario released Volume Two of her 2016/2017 Annual Energy Conservation Progress Report, Every Joule Counts: Ontario’s Energy Use and Conservation Year in Review, to the Ontario Legislature.

Every Joule Counts shows that energy conservation continues to be a wise investment in Ontario’s future. Conservation of electricity and natural gas remain the most cost-effective sources of energy in Ontario; however, increased natural gas conservation has considerable potential to save residents and businesses money and energy, and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The ECO’s annual energy conservation progress reports provide the only comprehensive public review of energy use and conservation in the province.
