| We are now accepting applications for our 2017 Utility Excellence Awards. These Awards highlight the remarkable work our members are accomplishing in their communities. Water and wastewater utilities perform a vital service, protecting both human health and the environment, and these Awards offer peer recognition of these efforts. We are offering awards in three areas: Community Outreach, Risk Taking – Implementation of Innovative Technologies and new for 2017 awards for the BEST VIDEO. We're excited to be hosting a specialty workshop on Sunday, June 4. The focus of the workshop will be on developing a strategic vision for Urban Water Management in Canada for the next half century. The vision will address three major topics of national interest: Climate change, Risk Management and Asset Management. A key part of the agenda will be interactive working discussions with federal, municipal and international urban water experts to identify gaps, develop a strategy, and develop recommendations which will be presented during the subsequent Window on Ottawa.
