PEI: Province Amends Drinking Water and Wastewater Facility Operating Regulations

Prince Edward Island Environmental Protection Act Drinking Water and Wastewater Facility Operating Regulations Amendment was published in the August 8, 2015 edition of the Royal Gazette. Changes include in part:
 
Section 1 amends a number of definitions, adds a definition for "operator-in-charge" and repeals definitions of "small public drinking water supply facility" and "small waste water collection facility" as these terms are no longer used in the Environmental Protection Act.
 
  • Section 4 requires the designation of an operator-in-charge of a facility and replaces references to "operator" with "operator in charge"
  • .Section 5 provides exceptions to section 4 to permit the owner of a Class A water distribution facility to designate a person with certain plumbing qualifications as the operator-in-charge of a Class A water distribution facility
