Nova Scotia’s Minister of Environment, Randy Delorey, approved May 14, 2015, Nova Scotia Watercourse Alterations Standard - For Watercourse Alterations under Notification Process. The standard - effective June 1, 2015 - presents the minimum requirements that apply to watercourse alteration activities for which notification must be provided under NS Reg. 47/95 Activities Designation Regulations.

A new Guide to Altering Watercourses describes what to do when alterations are necessary and how to do the work correctly to prevent or lessen damage to rivers, lakes, streams and ponds.
