Partners Launch Study Developing Municipal Climate Risk and Vulnerability Information

Print Print this Article | Send to Colleague

The Ontario Climate Consortium (OCC), Clean Air Partnership (CAP), and York Region are currently leading a study focused on developing municipal climate risk and vulnerability information in support of broader adaptation planning efforts in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA). Currently, this work is focused on the Regional Municipality of York and builds on previous work conducted in Peel Region and the City of Toronto.

This internship will involve supporting this project by conducting research using a combination of literature reviews, quantitative and qualitative analysis of both climatological andsystem vulnerability indicators, and consultation with stakeholders. This information will then be compiled in a MS Access database to ensure it is organized and easily accessible. Much of the research work will involve collecting findings from existing municipal risk and vulnerability assessments and standardizing/customizing this information for the current project.
