Yahoo news is featuring a four-part series that explores the world’s expanding thirst for water and Canada’s role in quenching it.

As the world's need for fresh drinking water continues to grow, Canada will have to make some important decisions about its wealth of this natural resource that is increasingly considered more valuable than oil.
The series will explore:

  • Part 1: Canada's water basics
  • Part 2: An increasingly thirsty planet
  • Part 3: The politics of water
  • Part 4: Looking forward

CWWA Executive Director, Robert Haller wrote an article for the series that explores water regulation across Canada and the unique challenges faced by different regions and jurisdictions and the efforts to create national policies for such regional issues. Read CWWA's article or browse the whole series.
