National Conference is for Utility Leaders!

Utility Leaders take note: Our national conference this fall is being put together with you, our members, in mind. This October, CWWA is proud to be hosting the 16th National Drinking Water Conference.

Once again we are working closely with the Federal-Provincial-Territorial Committee on Drinking Water and our partners at Health Canada to put together a very robust technical program. For those who have attended before, you can attest to the quality of the presentations and the learning experience. Now, for 2014, we are trying to improve that experience for all.

To ensure this is a valuable experience for utility leaders as well as the academic and regulator sector, we have put together a full stream of programming specifically aimed at the utility sector. This program includes sessions on AWWA’s Partnership for Safe Water, a session on IT for water services, performance optimization projects, risk assessment, asset management, water pricing and more.

The key roles of CWWA are to: 1. Represent the Water/Wastewater Sector to the federal government; and 2. Facilitate national-level dialogue on the critical issues of our sector. This National Drinking Water Conference is designed to meet both those purposes, bringing together those who lead the water utilities with those in the academic and government circles. Far too often have I attended water events discussing the activities of the utility sector without adequate participation by the utilities themselves.  So please join us as a delegate October 26-29, in Gatineau, here in the National Capital Region. Check out more details here.

As for my Private Sector friends, this is a great opportunity for you to reach the water and utility leadership in Canada. Sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities are available now. Check out the website for more details.

HEADS UP!  For 2015 we are launching ONE, ANNUAL, NATIONAL conference. No longer will CWWA toil with multiple events and silos for narrow programming. This all-encompassing event will address water, wastewater, stormwater, energy, water efficiency, climate change, security and every other aspect of our industry – coming at it from a national perspective and an opportunity for trans-provincial sharing.
