Decentralized Wastewater Systems Workshop

WaterTAP Ontario and the Ontario Onsite Wastewater Association (OOWA) combined forces to host a one-day workshop on decentralized wastewater systems.  The session brought together wastewater engineers, land use planners, municipal staff and provincial staff to consider the alternatives to large centralized systems. The session focused mostly on rural lot development and Ontario planning conditions. While the discussion was primarily about Ontario regulations, CWWA Executive Director Robert Haller attended and tried to bring a national perspective to the dialogue and to speak to the benefits of small municipal systems.

WaterTAP’s Dr. Lesley Herstein facilitates the workshop.

Delegates tackle various issues in breakout groups.
