Apply for new climate change capital project grants

The Federation of Canadian Municipalities now offers grants of up to $1 million for climate change capital projects.
This new funding will help municipalities like yours reduce greenhouse gas
emissions and adapt to climate change impacts, such as flooding, extreme
temperatures and drought.
Canadian cities and communities of all sizes are eligible to apply. Examples of
eligible capital projects include:
- Installing permeable surfaces to manage water runoff
- Switching to cleaner fuel or purchasing green vehicles
- Producing clean energy from landfill gas capture
A
streamlined application process will help your municipality begin work quickly.
Larger grants may also be available.
Projects that are already underway may be eligible. All applications must be
submitted by January 2020.
