Monday, May 21, 2018, will be the first ever Supply Chain Professionals Appreciation Day.

While there exists a National Truck Driver Appreciation Week and a National Healthcare Supply Chain Week, until now, there wasn't yet an official day to celebrate the majority of professionals representing the end-to-end supply chain every day.

It will be a day to post pictures and celebrate what you do every day - funny memes, photos of your colleagues in action, shout outs and just about anything that you can think of.

Just be sure to use the hashtags #SupplyChainProfessionalsDay and #CSCMP with your social media posts! CSCMP will be participating, liking and sharing your posts and celebrating Supply Chain Professionals all over the world!

"Our organization represents thousands of supply chain professionals across the world.  The creation of the Annual Supply Chain Professionals Day allows us to recognize this growing and evolving discipline and the professionals who serve within it," said Rick Blasgen, CSCMP President and Chief Executive Officer.

The idea for a professional organization of distribution managers (later referred to as logistics managers) was first conceived in May of 1962, to meet an urgent need for continuing education and to provide an opportunity for an interchange of ideas in this rapidly growing profession that has come to be known today as supply chain management.

Fifty-six years later, CSCMP continues to serve today's supply chain professionals.  Built by members, for members, CSCMP connects, develops and educates the world's logistics and supply chain management professionals throughout their careers.  No matter where you are in your career development, CSCMP has the resources to help you achieve your goals.

"It's exciting to see that we finally have an occasion to celebrate the contributions supply chain professionals have within our global economy.  All too often, our profession can remain behind-the-scenes and it doesn't always get the proper recognition for the important role we play in the success of our organizations.  Supply Chain Professionals Day should create an excellent opportunity each year to show appreciation for those who have careers in the various aspects of the end-to-end supply chain," said Mark Bray of ACR Supply Company and President of the CSCMP Raleigh Roundtable.

The Annual Supply Chain Professionals Day will be held annually the third Monday in May.  The inaugural 2018 Annual Supply Chain Professionals Day is scheduled to be held on May 21, 2018.
Mark your calendars and join CSCMP in celebrating today's supply chain management professionals on the inaugural Annual Supply Chain Professionals Day.
