The Actuarial Standards Board is just one of the standard-setting groups affected by the continued development of the International Standards of Actuarial Practice (ISAPs). Here is an update on the ISAPs and what they will mean to actuaries in Canada and elsewhere.

Volunteers at the Actuarial Foundation of Canada are making a difference to Canadians’ knowledge of key financial issues. Two important projects are only the latest ways in which the foundation is promoting actuarial expertise.
 
Twenty high school students received an insight into actuaries and their work during a five-day event organized by Western University with support from the CIA, the Actuarial Foundation of Canada, and London Life.
 
The CIA and Casualty Actuarial Society are promoting the value of predictive modelling in a two-book series that will benefit two actuarial foundations.
 
The CIA and actuarial employers who attended a recent job fair were delighted to meet hundreds of students keen to find their first place in the actuarial profession.
