The 2014 Elections offer opportunities to play a role in the governance of the CIA and the future of the actuarial profession, so please consider standing as a candidate and when the time comes, please vote!
 
Last month witnessed the launch of the CIA's latest publication, Seeing Beyond Risk. A replacement for the Institute's defunct print magazine, it is designed to promote actuarial thinking and the profession's expertise to a global audience.

With the launch of the University Accreditation Program and Academic Relations Committee, the CIA has paved the way for the profession to strengthen its relationship with Canadian universities. There are various ways in which this can be achieved.
 
The CIA website was nominated as one of three finalists in the Non-Profit category of Sitefinity’s Website of the Year 2013 competition, recognition for the Institute’s efforts to deliver an effective and user-friendly website for all its members.
 
This feature in the (e)Bulletin gives members an opportunity to tell their peers about themselves via the answers to 10 straightforward and fun questions. The questionnaire is a way of temporarily turning the focus away from the day-to-day work of actuarial science and more towards the people who make up the profession.
