Annual Meeting Welcomes International Guests

The CIA was delighted to welcome a number of distinguished international guests at this year's Annual Meeting, including representatives from actuarial organizations across North America and elsewhere.

Joining the hundreds of CIA members and others who attended the highly successful event in Vancouver, BC, were:

  • Rob Brown, President of the International Actuarial Association and a former CIA President;
  • Bob Miccolis, President-Elect, Casualty Actuarial Society;
  • Tom Terry, President, American Academy of Actuaries;
  • Errol Cramer, President-Elect, Society of Actuaries;
  • Mark Freedman, President, Society of Actuaries;
  • John Schubert, President, Conference of Consulting Actuaries;
  • Nick Salter, President, Institute and Faculty of Actuaries;
  • Derek Cribb, Chief Executive, Institute and Faculty of Actuaries;
  • Yoshiaki Maebayashi, General Secretary, Institute of Actuaries of Japan; and
  • Tomio Murata, Vice-President, Institute of Actuaries of Japan.

This year's meeting featured a number of additions, including the pilot CIA Meeting App, a data wall, and more. Work is now underway for next year's event, which will include its own unique features as part of the Institute's 50th Anniversary celebrations.
