President's Report
As warm weather approaches, MDRAO is getting ready to begin a new year with new teams across the province. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all new chapter and board members for their interest and commitment to medical device reprocessing as it relates to quality patient care. It is through change that the MDRAO is strengthened with innovation that continues to move us forward. To all of the senior chapter and board members, thank you for your continued commitment to the MDRAO. It is with your wisdom and mentorship that our organization continues to grow and develop.

Vice President's Report
The refresher and distance courses that are currently offered online have been very well received. Videos are being taped at the SSM SAH site, and the online course is scheduled to be complete April 1, 2018. The cost of the online course will remain the same as the current classroom course, and a refresher will be required after five years. Course coordinators will no longer be used, but we will roll out a facilitator program offering the current coordinators to continue on if they choose. As facilitators, they will be responsible for answering student questions and explaining chapter information via online chat or email.

Chapter Reports
Our chapter has had one meeting since our Christmas dinner in December 2017. It was held at the Westin Prince Hotel on March 3, 2018, and sponsored by AMT/Vantage Endoscopy group. As usual, our meetings have been well attended by more than 20 members. We have continued the trend of having educational sessions during our meetings; now, a certificate of attendance is issued from the chapter to all members.

The Lambda Chapter has been very busy since our last meeting in February. Interest in serving on the executive team has declined, and our current executive has rallied — with the support of the membership — to recruit some new faces for the upcoming elections. Positions open are chapter president, chapter vice president, chapter rep for education and development, secretary/treasurer and Lambda Chapter board representative.

Our Sigma Chapter Education Day is approaching quickly on May 8, 2018. It will be an exciting day for all members and non-members. We have a fantastic lineup of presenters beginning Saturday morning at 0830.

Wow — time really flies. It seems like only yesterday that I was elected to serve you as president. Now, two terms later, here we are. Elections are underway, and I am excited to see some new members seeking to join our team. I wish all candidates good luck. Theta is enjoying a remarkable year with a total of 142 members as of February 28. Well done! We are looking forward to our education days on April 20 and 21, including a dinner-and-learn Friday evening and a full day of speakers and exhibits Saturday. This will be my last message as president as I move to the past president position. It has been an honour and a privilege to have served you.
