2015 ACC President, Robert Hardman named Vice President Coal Supply, Dynegy.

Congratulations to Rob Hardman for his recent appointment as Vice President Coal Supply at Dynegy effective May 1, 2015.

Dynegy operates power generating facilities in eight states in the Midwest, the Northeast and the West Coast. The company's portfolio consists of nearly 26,000 megawatts of generating facilities that are capable of generating enough electricity to power about 21 million homes nationwide. The company serves residential, municipal, commercial and industrial customers through its Homefield Energy and Dynegy Energy Services businesses in Illinois, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

We have recently learned that Jeff Wallace, Vice President - Fuel Services at Southern Company, has announced his plans to retire. From Southern Company’s announcement, "Jeff began his Southern Company career in 1978 as a Georgia Power joint-ownership accounting analyst. He progressed through accounting and budgeting positions before being named manager of Georgia Power’s Resource Management in 1989. He later served as Georgia Power’s Metro Southwest Region manager, assistant to the president, vice president of customer service and vice president of planning and utility relations. He has served in his current role since 2006.

Active in numerous professional organizations, Jeff has served as chairman of the Rail Energy Transportation Advisory Committee to the Surface Transportation Board and chairman of the American Coal Council. He is currently chairman of the National Coal Council."

The ACC would like to wish Jeff all the best as he looks forward to a well-deserved retirement. We would also like to thank him for his many years of dedicated service to this industry and to our organization.

Training and Education
Douglas C. Brauer, Ph.D., Vice President Economic Development & Innovative Workforce Solutions Richland Community College, Decatur, IL

Wednesday, May 20, 2015 ˜ 2 pm - 3 pm Eastern

Our May webcast builds on the topic of our April 2015 webcast with Scott McDonald of Archer Daniels Midland (ADM). In that webcast, we discussed the carbon capture and storage project at ADM’s Decatur, Illinois facility, part of the Department of Energy’s Regional Carbon Sequestration Initiative. Carbon dioxide is captured, compressed, and transported via pipeline and then injected deep underground into the nearby Mount Simon Sandstone shale formation.

The Decatur project’s unique partnership includes Richland Community College, which has successfully developed and managed community education and outreach to cultivate public acceptance and promote understanding that CCS technologies safely reflect the best interests of the community.

Join us as Dr. Brauer shares information on the strategy and tactics resulting in effective educational outreach to over 3.4 million people since 2011

There is no charge for members of the American Coal Council, but pre-registration is required.
Non-members may register for a fee of $50.
Space is limited to the first 50 registrants. Register TODAY!

Be sure to set aside May 20th at 2pm Eastern on your calendar!
