During the closure a contractor will pour concrete for the west leaf of the lift span deck and balance the counterweight to support the heavier new deck. A two-inch concrete layer will be poured into the top of the new steel grate deck, to provide better traction. The bridge closure is needed because vibrations from traffic can damage new concrete while it cures, or hardens.

Keep this - you may need it!

Education

Instructor: John Temoyan, Vice President of HARBRO Emergency Services & Restoration

This class is an introductory overview of basic disaster preparedness principles including mitigation considerations from the facility management viewpoint.

This is not a presentation to review first aid or evacuation procedures but rather an informative and thought-provoking, introduction-level class introducing disaster preparedness integrated into the steps necessary to mitigate further damage from occurring.

Planning for and responding to water damage, mold and fire/smoke will be discussed. By using real-life loss examples and integrating both missteps and success stories along with class participation, this overview will ensure that you will come away with at least one good "take away."

Quite a lot actually - lighting which appears more blue (also known as high correlated color temperature) is most similar to sunlight and can substantially increase alertness, well-being and work performance in office environments. Conversely, exposure to this "blue" light in the evening can throw off your sleep schedule, causing too much alertness.

This is one more great reason to upgrade to LEDs! With a range of colors available and excellent color stability, LED lighting can really enhance the workplace and be a draw for tenants. Considering upgrading to LEDs? LAMP makes it easy and affordable. Contact Lloyd EcoDistrict to get started!

The building community, including owners, maintenance, and design professionals, need to be educated on the risks associated with the pipes within our buildings so that we can make informed decisions on what actions may (or may not) be needed. The local ASPE Chapter has had four technical sessions regarding Legionella in the last 3 years since it’s such an involved topic.

The course is from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Interface’s Portland office (100 SW Main St, Suite 1600).

Lunch is included for RSVPs.
