It will come as no surprise to many that the city known for being the "live music capital" tops our list of best places for people aged 20 to 34.

Stream Realty Partners confirmed Wednesday that the Bank of America Tower at 515 Congress Ave., the former annex building at 501 Congress Ave. and the Littlefield mixed-use building at Brazos and Sixth Street have all changed hands for undisclosed prices.

In Austin, we often engage in political discourse that ignores basic truths about land use. Here are some of those basic truths that we almost never attempt to deal with realistically in that discourse:

GroundFloor Development and Prescott Group announced plans for Saint Elmo, a $120 million mixed-use project in Austin, Texas. Saint Elmo will include 225,000 sq. ft. of creative office space and feature a 40,000-sq.-ft. indoor-outdoor marketplace, seated alongside the new location for Austin’s Saxon Pub.

A Southern California-based developer is taking cues from other out-of-state companies and jumping at the chance to develop in the Texas Highway 130 corridor — in this case near the intersection of Texas Highway 71, east of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.

Cityline Companies LLC is planing to develop CityLine at MLK Station, a mixed-use development in East Austin. The proposed project would be located at the northeast corner of MLK Jr. Blvd. and Alexander Avenue, directly across the street from Capital Metro’s MLK Jr. MetroRail station. The project proposes to provide 134,000 SF of office space, 11,000 SF ground-floor retail, and 36,000 SF multi-story residential.

With little fanfare last week, Freddie Mac launched the first of what it hopes will be a series of lender initiatives that will encourage energy efficiency: a Green Rebate to borrowers that voluntarily provide an ENERGY STAR score with their loan documents.
