ASHHRA eNews Brief
PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Dear ASHHRA Colleagues,

In the words of my favorite Sunday morning news program, this time of year is a great time for "Hail and Farewell." We are pleased to have Lee Byrd, Lynette Walker, and Norma Tirado join the board. These individuals have been long-standing members of ASHHRA involved in many aspects of their local and regional chapters.

We will miss Paul Morlock, vice president of human resources at Stanly Regional Medical Center, Albermale, N.C., and John Ostrom, director of human resources at Intermountain Medical Group, Salt Lake City, Utah, whose terms have ended on the Board. Both of these men have contributed in profound ways to the successes that ASHHRA has realized in the past few years. Notably, Paul and John have actively participated as mentors in the mentoring program and contributed countless hours to the development of the CHHR exam. I will miss their wisdom and good humor. I would be remiss not to recognize Irma Babiak Pye, also leaving the board. Irma has been involved with ASHHRA for decades. She brought wisdom and a vision to her board service. Her leadership as vice president, president, and past-president has provided continuity and stability to our organization.

So, as we begin 2014, let me introduce your board of directors and give you a brief sense of who we are:
  • Amy Barry, MBA, senior vice president and chief human resource officer at Lakeland Regional Health System, Lakeland, Fla.—health system, Southeast
  • Marit Brock, SPHR, CMPE, chief human resource officer at Minnesota Gastroenterology, St. Paul, Minn.—ambulatory care, Midwest

  • Diane Schultz, chief executive officer at Post Acute Medical Specialty Hospital of Corpus Christi, Corpus Christi, Texas—long-term acute care, South
