Human Resources Today
Open enrollment, which typically begins on Nov. 1, will be here before you know it. The most feasible way to go about planning and executing a successful open enrollment process is to begin well in advance.

Workforce
Over the years, employee assistance programs have since matured to address a broad range of issues that can affect all aspects of employee performance and engagement. Today, mental health is a leading driver of EAP investments and the services provided, and employees are more open to taking advantage of these offerings.

Benefit Trends
HR Morning
Employee debt is one of the biggest contributors to financial worries and more firms are looking at offering debt relief benefits alongside more traditional benefits. Debt assistance is also proving a powerful tool for attracting, hiring and retaining new workers, especially young people with heavy student loan burdens.

Financial
HR Dive
Half of all employees received a raise or promotion in the prior year, according to a recent study by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.

Wall Street Journal
An increasing number of employers are helping employees start emergency savings accounts, encouraging staff to pay into emergency accounts by offering them cash and other incentives, while others are diverting a portion of employees’ paychecks into rainy-day funds related to their 401(k) plans.

Workplace Programs & Perks
Fast Company
In a recent survey asking “What is the best summer perk companies could offer?”, 52% of employees said flexible scheduling, followed by 27% who would love to be able to leave early on Fridays. Only 11% of employees said a relaxed dress code during the summer was their top priority, although it's a perk provided by 53% of companies.

Philadelphia Inquirer
Human resources is all about the perks these days, especially when it comes to younger workers at some of Philadelphia's top workplaces. For example, at CardConnect, fresh, locally grown produce is delivered to the company headquarters every other week during the growing season. Workplace Wellness
Cororate Wellness Magazine

Now in its eleventh year, the event provides an opportunity for employers and organizations to enhance existing wellness programs and encourage their employees to adopt proactive strategies for improved physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing in the workplace.

Forbes
Corporate wellness programs have become the norm for many US-based companies, with over 80% of companies in the U.S. (with over 50 employees) offering some sort of corporate wellness benefit. When incorporated correctly, bringing fitness and mindfulness practices into the workweek provide myriad benefits for employers and employees alike.

Work-Life Integration
Time
If you think about it, work-life balance is a strange aspiration for a fulfilling life. Balance is about stasis. It seems more useful, then, to not try to balance the unbalanceable, but to treat work the same way you do life: By maximizing what you love.

Health Affairs
Ask family caregivers what they do, and the response is likely to be: “Whatever needs to be done.” The responsibilities of this vast, unpaid workforce go far beyond addressing the lists of functional deficits and limitations on independent living of the people they care for.

Benefts Pro
Workplace productivity owes a lot to the health, both physical and mental, of its employees and the support the employer provides to employees. According to a new study by researchers from Vitality Group, health-related issues cause employees to lose the equivalent of 31.2 working days each year.

CNBC
The ever-increasing demands of the modern workplace have proved to be a major pain point that ratchets up the pressure on employees. Making these challenges worse is the fact that many employers may not be as focused on support for employees’ mental health as they need to be.
