Career Corner
Small bits of knowledge add up to much greater wisdom. And yes, you do have enough time. You might not have time to go back to school or read a library's worth of books, but you most certainly have time for these techniques, which can help you keep learning no matter how busy you are.

Diversity of thought fuels wisdom. If you are courageous and wise enough to accept this fact, you will not be afraid to be more vulnerable, take ownership of this mindset, and lead the new normal. Knowledge is what is gathered over time. Wisdom, in turn, enables us to act properly upon that knowledge.

Health Care Hiring
If you've read your fair share of content about recruiting, retaining or managing Millennial talent, then chances are good that you're familiar with the fact that this generation is often talked about as if they're a completely separate species of human. But those assumptions don't account for the vast majority of millennials, and operating based on these misconceptions won't do you any favors.

I’ve read a lot of cover letters throughout my career. When I was a fellowship program manager, I reviewed them in consideration for more than 60 open positions each year. So I saw it all — the good, the bad and the standout examples that I can still remember. While I can’t give you insight into every person’s head who’ll be reading your materials, I can share with you the feedback that I give my own loved ones.

With the CHHR behind your name, it shows you to be a professional of the highest caliber: One who truly knows the field and is savvy to current best practices in benefits and wellness. ASHHRA members who qualify and apply for a CHHR Scholarship will receive a voucher for the full CHHR exam fee (a $295 value)!

Congratulations to the following who have attained their CHHR in 2016 – you too could be on this list!
