Depending on the company, a human resources job can encompass everything from recruiting to training to compensation or it can focus on a single human resources specialty. Although the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) doesn’t separate each human resources specialty, it does project overall employment in all human resources job categories to grow by 22 percent between 2008 and 2018 — much faster than most occupations.

Recruitment often gets the short shrift when it comes to budget allotments, so it can be easy to assume that most challenges hiring managers face stem from a lack of cash. However, according to CareerBuilder’s new Enterprise Pulse Survey, nearly half (46 percent) of hiring managers reported that the biggest factor preventing them from overcoming their recruitment challenges is time.

If you’re a newcomer to health care or are considering entering it, you may think your job history and experiences outside the field are irrelevant. You’re wrong. Many of your strengths and skills — whether they include customer-service expertise or the ability to multitask under pressure — are probably more relevant and transferable than you realize.

Health Care Hiring
When making a new hire, ideally you want to find the perfect person for the job; and if they don’t exist, the next best thing. To find this individual, you are going to have to leave no stone unturned; and this means expanding to everyone, whether they’re currently employed or not. When approaching passive candidates, it is important to be tactful, cultivating the relationship to win them over and keep them engaged in the hiring process.
