A new Performance Improvement Measure (PIM) has been added to the Sustainability Roadmap for Hospitals, a national best practice resource for hospitals and health systems to assist with reducing costs and improving environmental performance and community health. The Lifecycle Management of Electronics from Procurement to Disposal guides you through the steps to safer procurement, management, and disposal of electronic equipment. The PIM offers sample purchasing agreements language you may want to use to ensure energy efficient, cost effective, durable, and recyclable/reusable equipment procurement. The document describes how to be maximize electronics efficiencies and provides tips on electronics recycling and disposal from compliance issues and beyond. The decisions we make, from purchasing to disposal, will make a difference.
