The cost of the examination and new certification card is $150.00. A tutorial is included in the examination package.

INTERNATIONAL NEWS
Risk management is now top of board agendas with business interruption, reputational damage and cyber crime the top three concerns... Organizations, whatever their size, should know that they face highly resourceful criminals and law enforcement agencies are overwhelmed by the scale of their task.

Marginal fields on the UKCS are hidden gems for the economic recovery of the oil and gas industry, says Tim Martin, Managing Director of Ramboll Oil & Gas UK. It is estimated that around 200 small pools contain more than 1 billion barrels of oil equivalent (boe) in the North Sea.

Offshore oil production in the US Gulf of Mexico had been reduced by 22% as of Tuesday because of concerns over Tropical Depression Nine moving in from the Caribbean. The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), an agency under the Department of the Interior, said several producers in the east of the US Gulf had shut in production on a total of nine platforms, half of them operated by Shell or BP.

A remote community in the Lake District known for its association with author Beatrix Potter has joined the high-speed fibre broadband revolution following a major engineering operation, in which a submarine cable was laid across Lake Windermere. A specialist team of BT engineers used one of the lakes’ maintenance barges to install the 1000 metre-long cable to link up Far Sawrey with Connecting Cumbria’s broadband network. Divers then inspected the cable 60 metres below the surface to ensure the installation was successful.

REGULATORY NEWS
EPA enforcement is becoming a more prevalent issue for vessels importing into the U.S. This has been in the regulations for a while but has rarely been enforced. Before a few weeks ago we had only been asked two or three times in 15 years for the EPA conformity of the engines in a boat. Within the last month U.S. Customs and Border Protection has started requesting this on a regular basis and in Miami, Customs is requiring the WPA 3520-21 Engine declaration form be submitted at the time the importation is filed or they will not accept the entry.
