2 – Compliance required after 12 months from 7 July 2011
3 – Compliance required after 24 months from 7 July 2011

The National Board of Diving & Hyperbaric Medical Technology is pleased to announce a DMT refresher training course. It is scheduled for January 25/26, 2012 and will be held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. This unique training opportunity is organized and sponsored by the National Board and will coincide with Underwater Intervention 2012, the Association of Diving Contractors International’s annual conference.
Several diving medical specialists have agreed to speak. The National Board is also very grateful to Safety Management Systems, a division of Acadian Companies, and headquartered in Lafayette, LA. SMS agreed to make available several of its instructors and all necessary manikins for the clinical and diagnostic skills sessions.
A registration fee of $75.00 will cover all course materials, lunch (Cajun style) daily, coffee and sodas throughout each day, and a DMT t-shirt.

On Nov. 18, 1912, the whole town of Yuma, and beyond, celebrated with a special ceremony. Brooks pointed to an old photo of men standing inside the canal waiting for the water to start coming through when suddenly they see a wall of water coming toward them. The cameraman snapped the photo as the men dashed out of the way.

Gunmen stormed a ship supplying a Chevron Corp. offshore oil field, kidnapping three workers in an attack raising concerns over a possible unraveling amnesty deal in the crude-rich nation, authorities said Friday.
The attack happened Thursday night near Chevron’s massive Agbami oil field, operated by its Nigerian subsidiary about 70 nautical miles offshore from Bayelsa state in Nigeria’s oil-rich southern delta, officials said. Eight gunmen boarded the MV C-Endeavour, attacking the crew and taking the three sailors hostage, Chevron spokesman Kurt Glaubitz said.

OSLO, Norway – The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) and the University of Bergen have acquired samples from steep parts of the seabed on the Jan Mayen ridge between Norway and Iceland.
NPD is investigating the potential for petroleum in the region.
According to Exploration Director Sissel Eriksen, the oldest of the samples appear to be 260 million years old.
"We had hoped, but not expected, to find such old sedimentary rocks near Jan Mayen," Eriksen said. "The impact of volcanic rocks in the area is less than we previously thought – volcanic rocks generally do not have a potential for oil and gas."

The contract involves the supply of subsea landing string services for monitoring of electronic submersible pump completions (ESP) in the Causeway oilfield.

Aker Solutions in Aberdeen is to manufacture and deliver a number of subsea control modules and topside power units as part of an £8 million contract with Dana Petroleum plc.
The company has signed a contract for the project management, engineering, procurement and construction of a number of subsea systems for the Western Isles Development Project on the UK continental shelf. It marks the first contract agreement between the two companies.

The Research Partnership to Secure Energy for America (RPSEA) announces six proposals under the Ultra-Deepwater Program have been selected for negotiations leading to an award under its contract with the Department of Energy's (DOE) National Energy Technology Laboratory and in support of the Ultra-Deepwater and Unconventional Natural Gas and Other Petroleum Resources Research and Development Program that was established pursuant to the Energy Policy Act of 2005.

Moscow, November 29, 2011 - TNK Vietnam, a wholly-owned subsidiary of TNK-BP, has successfully completed a 32-day Subsea Intervention Campaign on the Lan Tay offshore facilities. The work was performed to prepare the infrastructure prior to the development of the Lan Do gas field in block 06.1 on the Vietnam continental shelf.
