Possible article topics include, but are not limited to: safety, new techniques, new equipment, equipment reviews, recent projects, etc. Special attention will be given to articles highlighting safety; however, all topics of general interest to diving contractors will be considered. A study undertaken by Aquatic Sciences, Inc., an international underwater inspection service, demonstrated that the Scalewatcher Electronic System can control infestations of zebra mussels in pipes and water inlets. The system, recognized for its ability to control formation of calcium scaling in piping without the use of harsh chemicals, is based on a design from the Netherlands, and is used throughout the world.

Keppel Corp , the world's largest rig-builder, reported a better-than-expected 7.8 percent rise in quarterly net profit on Wednesday, helped by better margins from its offshore and marine business, while new orders for oil rigs rebounded.

Oilfield pumping units maker Lufkin Industries Inc. Wednesday announced a sharp increase in first-quarter profit on the back of a 53 percent surge in revenues. President and chief executive officer John Glick attributed the results to "robust oil prices" which were "driving sharp increases in energy related activity across the globe."

Waller Marine, Inc. announced the successful installation of its recently constructed floating power generation barges into a prepared basin at Tacoa, Venezuela. The two 171 MW barges, each supporting a GE 7FA dual fuel industrial gas turbine, will quickly be connected to the grid and soon supply much needed power to Caracas.

Nexans, a worldwide leading expert in the cable industry, has been awarded an approximately 18 million euros contract by Statoil to design, engineer and manufacture the static and dynamic subsea umbilicals that will play a vital role in the tie back system connecting the new Gygrid field development to the existing Njord A installation off the Norwegian Continental shelf. The Gygrid field, discovered in November 2009, contains 23 million barrels of recoverable oil equivalents (mostly crude). It will be tied back 20 km southwest to the Njord field.
