Lionfish Sighting and Warning (2012)


Several years ago the ADCI issued a warning about the increased presence of lionfish in the Gulf of Mexico. Since the time of the original notice, the lionfish population in the GoM has increased substantially and sightings during dive operations have increased as well.

Please read the attached Exotic Species Alert from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to learn more about the concerns of this venomous fish and ways to treat human exposure.
