MSC Cruises and PortMiami have reached an agreement for preferential berthing rights and signed a Memorandum of Understanding incorporating the negotiation of a development agreement for the construction of a new Cruise Terminal AAA. The Port of Seattle and Sound Transit, with Sound Transit mascot Zap Gridlock, partnered in handing out 500 free light rail tickets to disembarking cruise passengers to encourage them to spend time in Seattle before taking Link light rail to the airport.
 
 
   
The Port of New Orleans and its partners at New Orleans Cold Storage hosted the Colombia Poultry Export Quota, Inc. for their annual board of directors meeting where they toured Port NOLA and NOCS facilities. The Port of Los Angeles signed a "Friendship Agreement" with the Port Network Authority of the Central Tyrrhenian Sea that includes ports of Naples, Salerno and Castellammare di Stabia. The Port of Vancouver’s ECHO Program is planning a number of initiatives that are focused on reducing underwater noise from large commercial vessels within designated critical habitat for the endangered southern resident killer whale population.
