Pasha Hawaii is partnering with family-owned Lipsey Mountain Spring Water, the nation’s largest governmental bottled water supplier for disaster relief, to bring approximately 800 containers filled with over 15 million bottles of water aboard the Horizon Spirit to assist in humanitarian relief for the people of Puerto Rico. The Horizon Spirit will load the bottled water at the Port of Los Angeles and traverse the Panama Canal en route to Puerto Rico.

Port Manatee is serving as a launching point for efforts to help restore communications in Puerto Rico in the wake of Hurricane Maria. The Port Authority New York & New Jersey on October 13 deployed a relief team of more than 70 volunteers from John F. Kennedy International Airport to San Juan, as part of the agency’s ongoing commitment to Puerto Rico as it struggles to rebuild and recover from the devastation of Hurricane Maria.

Larger cruise ships as long as 1,100 feet can now dock at Broward County's Port Everglades Cruise Terminal 4 without extending into the Intracoastal Waterway. The Port of Galveston remains the fourth busiest cruise port in the U.S. based upon number of embarking passengers according to a recent study prepared by Business Research and Economic Advisors (BREA) for the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA). The port has held this ranking since 2012. 
 
The British Columbia coastal community of Oona River is enjoying improved access to its largest public space thanks to support from the Prince Rupert Port Authority’s Community Investment Fund.

Frederic Lebrun is the new director, marketing and projects, for the Saguenay Port Authority. Robert "Dukie" Valderrama, chairman of board of the San Diego Unified Port District, has received an Ocean Connectors Leadership Award from Ocean Connectors. The Pacific Northwest Waterways Association (PNWA) has recognized Port of Vancouver USA Commissioner Brian Wolfe with a Distinguished Service Award.
 
 
   
The Port of Longview Board of Commissioners recently entered into an agreement with International Raw Materials (IRM) to lease the Port’s Bridgeview Terminal.
