The Louisiana International Deep Water Gulf Transfer Terminal Authority (LIGTT) is proposing an advanced transshipment and logistics "hub-and-spoke" system that would serve as a value-added and viable route-to-market for containerized cargo. The deep-water container transfer terminal would be located near the mouth of the Mississippi River on a 2,000-acre site owned by the state of Louisiana with water depths up to 108 feet.
