Next week, AAHOA Chairman Hitesh (HP) Patel and AAHOA Secretary Vinay Patel will participate the National Association of Black Hotel Owners, Operators, and Developers (NABHOOD) Summit in Miami. Hitesh will share his expertise on "Hotel Development & Acquisition" and present an award on July 26. Vinay will address diversity in the hospitality industry in the Lodging Magazine Roundtable and share insights about selecting the right brand and hotel financing.Click here to see the agenda and register.

  

On Wednesday, July 25, AAHOA Chairman Hitesh (HP) Patel will moderate the Hotel Investment 101 panel in Miami at the Latino Hotel Association Conference, with panelists from big brands including Wyndham, Hilton, Red Roof, and Choice Hotels. On July 26, AAHOA Upper Midwest Regional Director Kalpesh Joshi and his Upper Midwest Regional Ambassadors will host the second of their three 2018 Regional Meetings next week in Elmhurst. SunTrust Robinson Humphrey reports, "Midscale (+0.4%) was the "strongest" chain scale for branded hotels; Upper Upscale was the weakest at -1.5%. Upper Midscale (-0.8%) slightly underperformed the overall US hotel industry average. Day of week results reflected some of the holiday shift noise as the daily RevPAR data improved every day of the week. Sunday RevPAR was -3.1% and Monday was -1.7%; the following weekend (Friday/Saturday) averaged +0.9%." For more, read the full report.

At high-end hotels around the world, unlisted rooms are a subtle staple with raisons d’etre as varied as the rooms themselves. Often, these types of rooms are referred to as "owner’s suites."
