The Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA) joins small business owners and supporters of American free enterprise this week in celebrating National Small Business Week and National Travel & Tourism Week.
The first AAHOA board meeting of 2016-2017 concludes at the Airport Marriott Gateway
Chairman Bharat "Bruce" Patel brought to order the year’s first meeting of the AAHOA Board of Directors at the Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway. New board members include Rashmikant "Haji" Patel (North Carolina Regional Director); Nishant "Neal" Patel (Young Professional Director at Large - Western Division); Navnit "Nick" Patel (Director at Large); and Ashok "Alan" Patel (Alabama/Panhandle Regional Director). Jagruti Panwala, current female director at large (eastern division), will officially begin her duties as the new AAHOA Secretary.

Serial plaintiff in Southern California halted after filing over 70 ADA lawsuits.
In a rare and decisive action, a Central District Court Judge dismissed an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) lawsuit filed by an Arizona disabled plaintiff who has recently filed a wave of over 70 ADA lawsuits against Southern California hotels.
  
On Tuesday, May 3rd, the AAHOA Government Affairs team participated in Destination DC, a rally to celebrate National Travel and Tourism Week. Featured in the photo is DC’s Mayor Muriel Bowser, who commemorated the hospitality industry for supporting over 75,000 jobs and attracting over $7.1 billion in the District.
