The Association of Fire Districts of the State of New York (AFDSNY) will conduct Fire Commissioner Training in conjunction with the NYSAFC 107th Annual Conference and FIRE 2013 expo at the Turning Stone Resort in Verona, N.Y.
Fire Commissioner Training will take place on Wednesday, June 12 from 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in Cypress Rooms C & D. Registration is $125 per person (includes three One Day Tickets for FIRE 2013).
All newly elected, re-elected, appointed, or re-appointed fire district commissioners must, within 270 days, attend and successfully complete a commissioner specific state-approved training course. The Association of Fire Districts of the State of New York has been approved by the New York State Comptroller’s Office to provide this training at the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs’ Annual Conference. The course will contain training related to legal, fiduciary, financial, procurement, and ethical responsibilities, with an update on current legislation. Training presenters will be Mark Butler, Esq. and Terrence Hannigan, Esq.
